25 April 2017, second Forestiade: see the programme and save the date!

After the success of the first Forestiade*, and to keep the Easter bells singing, we’ve managed to recruit more young talented musicians who will bring us a great programme on this occasion:

  • Emmy Wils (piano) Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor “Appassionata”.
  • Thomas Van Caekenberghe, Charly Delbecq (barytone, piano)
Shostakovich: 4 Romances on Poems by Pushkin; Lieder and folk songs by Diepenbrock, Brahms, Britten and Manuel de Falla.
  • Jeroen Vernimmen, Phyllis Bartholomeus, Emmy Wils (violin, cello, piano) Shostakovitch: Piano Trio No. 1
  • Esther Kouwenhoven, Elias van Dyck,  (soprano, piano)  Samuel Barber: vocal and piano works.
  • Josefina Enfedaque, Emmy Wils (soprano, piano) Frederic Mompou: “Damunt de tu només les flors”.

This romantic & 20th-century programme will be complemented, as usual, by any spontaneous contribution to the after-show. Come and bring your music with you!

Our musical evening will take place on a Tuesday this time, so we will start much earlier:

Tuesday 25 April 2017

Drinks and food as from 18:30 – Music starts at 19:30

Bottles and tips are always welcome.

What’s a Forestiade?

FeaturedWhat’s a Forestiade?

Forestiades: Informal concerts, recitals and jam sessions among friends, organised in Forest, Brussels. [Derived from: Schubertiades ‘informal gatherings, held at private homes, to celebrate the music of Franz Schubert’  and: 1190 Forest (Vorst) ‘one of the 19 districts in the city of Brussels’.]

Les Forestiades are inspired by all that great fun that Schubert & friends had in Vienna during their very animated musical evenings, as judging by their faces in the pictures! Our soirées musicales, though, are not limited to Schubert’s works, or even to classical music. They may also include some jazz, Spanish music and other sociable pastimes, such as plastic and performing arts, games, drinks and food. Continue reading “What’s a Forestiade?”
